Some weeks back I was introduced to Pilot Handwriting and have been fascinated by the potential of this rather interesting application. It’s a simple Flash App created by Pilot Pens that takes a image of your handwriting and converts it in a font you can use to write a letter so someone. All that’s required is to print out the template that’s available on the site and write in all the numbers and both upper and lower case letters plus a few symbols. Then either using your webcam, scanner, or camera you upload an image of the template and it auto generates a font. It then lets you write a letter and e-mail it someone as an image file. It also lets you set up an account and create as many handwriting fonts a you like. Here’s an example of what I did with it…

There are some obvious limitations with it however, you can only create the font on their site, and the letters are a bit on the small side. All the same, it does show the potential for how easily something like this can be done 🙂
