This week is sign language week in New Zealand and for those who are keen to integrate some awareness of this into their classroom programmes Deaf Aotearoa New Zealand have developed a great website of resources, including some excellent online video tutorials that I think would interest young people immensely. Apaprently they have also distributed a toolkit to NZ schools containing all sorts of resources including lesson plans and a DVD with additional material. It’s designed for Years 5 – 6 but is suitable for pretty much any age according to the publicity.
The design of this website just caught my eye – particularly the use of short video clips to illustrate and communicate! Well done Deaf Aotearoa New Zealand and thanks for the useful resource for schools!
