First day of being officially on leave, and I’m staying in Amesbury, in Wiltshire as we make our way down to Cornwall. An early morning start for us (4.30am) as we headed off the Stonehenge to see if we might be lucky enough to see the sunrise over Stonehenge. Unfortunately (for us) it’s the solstice festival at Stonehenge tomorrow, and the whole place was crawling with police, there to keep people from straying in and camping around the stones before it’s open for everyone tomorrow (Monday).
These shots are the best I can manage from the morning – taken just as the sun was coming up, but very cloudy 🙂
Off down to Penryn tonight – hopefully the weather will keep warming up!
Take care as you enter the West Country and trace your ancestors. They were cannibals http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2010/jun/20/ice-age-cannibals-britain-earliest-settlers
I suggest you try the world famous fish restaurants or opt for the vegetarian meals.
Surely you will have sampled a Devonshire Cream Tea!!
